Survey of Calculus, 2

Mr. Zheng is the grader for Surv2 this semester.

Our textbook is Applied Calculus (4^th ed.), along with the paperback Systems of Linear Equations, Matrices, and Linear Programming. Author: S.T. Tan.

A recommended (not required) text is Student Solutions Manual for Applied Calculus, also by S.T. Tan.

Approx. Syllabus: Additional material and Chapters 7-11. and 2*,3*,4*. The *-ed chapters refer to the paperback, Systems … Linear Programming. We will do Lagrange Multipliers more extensively than the text. OTOHand I do not plan to cover: 7.2, 7.3, 9.4, 10, 2*.7. Syllabus: Chapters 7-11. and 2*,3*,4*. Homework

Exams A,B,C will be in-class (closed book) exams. Exam D is take-home.

06Nov, Mon.	Exam C	Here are some practice C questions. with some answers. Topics: Partial diff., Lagrange mult., Double integrals, Diff. eqns using the method of Undetermined Coefficients and of Separation of Variables. You may wish to scrutinize these Supposed Solns to Exam C.
11Dec, Mon.	Exam D	This is a take-home exam which will be handed out on 04Dec, in class. It is due, slid u n d e r my office door (Little Hall 402, Northeast corner) , Little Hall 402, by 10AM on 11Dec2000. These Supposed Solns to Exam D may be of interest.
